Description
A simple yet indulgent dessert that combines creamy cheesecake and fresh strawberries in a delightful dump cake.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh strawberries (sliced; can substitute with frozen strawberries)
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese (softened; low-fat cream cheese works well too)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (or coconut sugar for a healthier option)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 box yellow cake mix (or gluten-free cake mix)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted; coconut oil can be used as a dairy-free alternative)
- 1 cup milk (almond milk or oat milk for dairy-free)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prep the strawberries by washing and slicing them, then toss with sugar and let sit.
- Cream the cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla in a bowl until smooth.
- Layer the strawberries in a 9×13-inch baking dish, then spoon the cream cheese mixture over the strawberries.
- Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the cream cheese layer.
- Add the melted butter drizzled over the cake mix.
- Pour the milk gently over the top, allowing it to seep through.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Cool for 15-20 minutes before serving with a dusting of powdered sugar.
Notes
