Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  3. Cut in the diced cold butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Combine the heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl.
  5. Bring the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until combined.
  6. Form the dough on a floured surface, knead gently until it comes together.
  7. Shape the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick and cut into desired shapes.
  8. Prep your shaped scones on a lined baking sheet, brush with heavy cream, and sprinkle with sugar.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden brown.
  10. Cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack.
