Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare your pan: Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Mix the wet ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, beat the egg. Then, add your oil, vanilla, sugar, and milk. Mix until well combined.
- Combine dry ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine wet and dry: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Prepare the streusel topping: In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, flour, and walnuts (if using).
- Pour the batter into the pan: Scoop the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
- Add the streusel: Sprinkle the streusel topping generously over the batter.
- Bake: Pop it in the oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes.
- Cool your cake: Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
- Make the glaze: Whisk together the powdered sugar and butter, adding just enough milk to get your desired consistency.
- Drizzle and serve: Once the cake is cool, drizzle the glaze over it.
