Description
A flavorful dish featuring juicy beef marinated in a sweet and savory teriyaki glaze, grilled to perfection and sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 Skewers (wooden or bamboo, soaked in water for 1 hour)
- 2 Tablespoons White Sesame Seeds (toasted)
- 2 Pounds Boneless Beef Sirloin Roast (sliced 1 cm thick against the grain)
- 1/2 Cup Dark Brown Sugar
- 1/3 Cup Soy Sauce
- 2 Tablespoons Garlic (approximately 6 cloves, pressed)
- 1 Tablespoon Sesame Oil
- 2 Tablespoons Mirin (or 1 teaspoon white sugar)
- 2 Tablespoons Hoisin Sauce
- 1/2 Cup Pineapple Juice or Fresh Crushed Pineapples
Instructions
- Soak your skewers for about 1 hour to prevent them from catching fire while grilling.
- Combine brown sugar, soy sauce, pressed garlic, sesame oil, mirin (or sugar), and hoisin sauce in a bowl and whisk until well combined.
- Slice the sirloin against the grain into 1 cm thick strips and marinate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2-4 hours.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, ensuring the grates are clean and lightly oiled.
- Skewer the marinated beef onto the soaked skewers, leaving space between pieces for even cooking.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook each side for about 3-4 minutes until desired doneness.
- Toast sesame seeds in a dry pan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- Plate the skewers, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, and serve with your favorite sides.
Notes
For a fun twist, add veggies like bell peppers or onions to the skewers for extra flavor and crunch.
