Description

A flavorful dish featuring juicy beef marinated in a sweet and savory teriyaki glaze, grilled to perfection and sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Skewers (wooden or bamboo, soaked in water for 1 hour)
  • 2 Tablespoons White Sesame Seeds (toasted)
  • 2 Pounds Boneless Beef Sirloin Roast (sliced 1 cm thick against the grain)
  • 1/2 Cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1/3 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Garlic (approximately 6 cloves, pressed)
  • 1 Tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Mirin (or 1 teaspoon white sugar)
  • 2 Tablespoons Hoisin Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup Pineapple Juice or Fresh Crushed Pineapples

Instructions

  1. Soak your skewers for about 1 hour to prevent them from catching fire while grilling.
  2. Combine brown sugar, soy sauce, pressed garlic, sesame oil, mirin (or sugar), and hoisin sauce in a bowl and whisk until well combined.
  3. Slice the sirloin against the grain into 1 cm thick strips and marinate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2-4 hours.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, ensuring the grates are clean and lightly oiled.
  5. Skewer the marinated beef onto the soaked skewers, leaving space between pieces for even cooking.
  6. Place the skewers on the grill and cook each side for about 3-4 minutes until desired doneness.
  7. Toast sesame seeds in a dry pan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Plate the skewers, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

For a fun twist, add veggies like bell peppers or onions to the skewers for extra flavor and crunch.
