- 1 loaf French Bread or Italian Bread
- 1 lb Ground Beef (or Ground Turkey)
- 2 tablespoons Taco Seasoning
- 4 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 1 cup Shredded Cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
- 1/4 cup Chopped Fresh Cilantro (or parsley)
- 1 cup Diced Tomatoes
- Sour Cream (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix together 1/2 cup of softened butter, 4 cloves of minced garlic, and a pinch of salt. Spread this mixture on your bread.
- Slice the bread down the middle and place it on a baking sheet. Bake for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the ground beef, seasoning with taco seasoning.
- Stir in diced tomatoes and simmer for a few minutes.
- Remove the bread from the oven and load each half with the taco-meat mixture, then sprinkle with cheese.
- Bake again for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve immediately with sour cream.
Notes
These boats can be made in advance; just prepare the filling in advance and assemble before baking.
