  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, mix the chicken drumsticks with the buttermilk. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 60 minutes.
  2. Prepare the coating: In another bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Preheat the oil: In a heavy skillet, pour enough oil to cover the bottom (about 1/2 inch deep). Heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F.
  4. Coat the chicken: Take each marinated chicken drumstick, letting the excess buttermilk drip off. Roll it in the flour mixture until fully coated.
  5. Fry the chicken: Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated chicken drumsticks in batches. Fry them for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally.
  6. Drain and serve: Place the chicken on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Let them rest for a few minutes.

Notes

If you want to keep them warm while frying the rest, place them in a low oven (around 200°F).
