- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup (or cream of mushroom for vegetarian)
- 1 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or pepper jack)
- 1/2 cup chopped onion (or green onions)
- 1/4 cup melted butter (or olive oil)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup corn flakes (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a large baking dish (9×13 inch) by greasing it with butter or non-stick spray.
- Mix together the frozen hash browns, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, chopped onion, melted butter, shredded cheese, and salt and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Top with corn flakes, if using, and drizzle with melted butter for extra crunch.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45–50 minutes until bubbly and lightly browned.
- Let it rest for a few minutes before serving for easier slicing.
