  • 1 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or pepper jack)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion (or green onions)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (or olive oil)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup corn flakes (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a large baking dish (9×13 inch) by greasing it with butter or non-stick spray.
  3. Mix together the frozen hash browns, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, chopped onion, melted butter, shredded cheese, and salt and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  5. Top with corn flakes, if using, and drizzle with melted butter for extra crunch.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45–50 minutes until bubbly and lightly browned.
