Description
A comforting blend of classic cheeseburger and creamy macaroni and cheese, perfect for weeknights or family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add your ground beef and season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as you go, about 5-7 minutes.
- Cook the elbow macaroni: Once the beef is browned, stir in the elbow macaroni, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and simmer for about 8-10 minutes until pasta is tender.
- Add creaminess: Stir in the milk and heat for a couple of minutes. If too thick, add a splash more milk.
- Cheesy goodness: Gradually stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it melts and creates a sauce.
- Taste and adjust: Taste your dish and adjust the seasoning with more salt, pepper, or hot sauce if desired.
- Serve up: Remove from heat and let it sit for a minute before serving, either straight from the skillet or plated in bowls.
Notes
Try garnishing with fresh herbs or extra cheese for added flavor. Pair with a simple side salad or garlic bread.
