Description

A colorful and fun treat combining classic Rice Krispies with marshmallow goodness, perfect for holidays and celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 10 oz marshmallows (mini or regular)
  • Red food coloring
  • Blue food coloring
  • Cooking spray or parchment paper (for the pan)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by spraying a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat until fully melted.
  3. Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until fully melted and smooth.
  4. Color the mixture by dividing it evenly into three bowls. One remains plain, add red food coloring to the second, and blue to the third.
  5. Combine 2 cups of Rice Krispies into each colored marshmallow mixture, ensuring they are well coated.
  6. Layer the bars starting with the white mixture, then the blue, and finally the red, leveling each layer.
  7. Let the bars set at room temperature for about 30 minutes or in the refrigerator for quicker setting.
  8. Cut the bars into squares and serve on a festive platter.

Notes

These bars can be made a day or two in advance. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
