Description
A classic and heartwarming Southern Peach Cobbler with sweet peaches and a buttery, flaky crust.
Ingredients
- Fresh Peaches (6–8 medium)
- Granulated Sugar (3/4 cup)
- Brown Sugar (1/4 cup)
- Ground Cinnamon (1 teaspoon)
- Lemon Juice (1 tablespoon)
- All-Purpose Flour (1 cup)
- Baking Powder (2 teaspoons)
- Salt (1/2 teaspoon)
- Milk (1 cup)
- Unsalted Butter (1/2 cup, melted)
- Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Wash, peel, and slice your fresh peaches. In a medium bowl, mix the peaches with ½ cup of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Let them sit for about 10 minutes.
- In a separate large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, ½ teaspoon of salt, and ¼ cup of brown sugar. Whisk them all together.
- Slowly stir in the milk and melted butter. Mix until just combined.
- In a greased baking dish, pour the batter in evenly. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter, allowing some of the juices to flow on top.
- Pop the dish into the preheated oven and bake for about 45–50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and slightly crispy.
- Once out of the oven, let it cool for at least 15 minutes. Serve it warm.
Notes
