Description

Soft and fluffy dinner rolls infused with pumpkin and maple, perfect for autumn meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup pumpkin purée
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup warmed whole milk (or dairy alternative)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Butter (or Vegan Butter) for brushing

Instructions

  1. Mix the wet ingredients in a large mixing bowl: 1 cup of pumpkin purée, 1/3 cup of maple syrup, and 1/2 cup of warmed milk.
  2. Add the instant yeast to the wet mixture and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
  3. Combine the dry ingredients in another bowl: 3 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and spices.
  4. Combine the wet and dry mixtures, stirring until the dough starts to form.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour.
  7. Shape the risen dough into 12 equal pieces and form into balls.
  8. Let the shaped rolls rise for another 20-30 minutes in a greased baking dish.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and brush the tops with melted butter.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with maple syrup if desired.

Notes

For a sweeter treat, try adding a layer of cream cheese frosting or apple butter on top. Also, consider adding herbs or cheese for variations.
