- 2 racks of baby back ribs or St. Louis-style ribs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Dry Rub:
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Barbecue Sauce:
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the ribs.
- In a bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, chili powder, cumin, and cayenne pepper.
- Generously sprinkle the dry rub over the ribs.
- Wrap the seasoned ribs tightly in aluminum foil.
- Pop the wrapped ribs into the preheated oven and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours.
- After baking, carefully unwrap the ribs and brush barbecue sauce all over them.
- Broil for about 3–5 minutes for a sticky finish.
- Let the ribs rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Serve with coleslaw and baked beans for a complete meal.
