Description

A deliciously fun recipe that combines the flavors of traditional baklava with Greek yogurt for a healthy twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Greek Yogurt (plain, low-fat, or full-fat)
  • 1 tablespoon Honey or Maple Syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 pinch Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Chopped Walnuts
  • 1 cup Chopped Pistachios
  • 1 package Crushed Phyllo Dough

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lay out sheets of phyllo dough on a clean surface, brushing each layer with melted butter or olive oil. Cut the phyllo into squares, bake for 8-10 minutes until crispy.
  2. Combine Greek yogurt, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of cinnamon in a bowl. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  3. Toast the chopped walnuts and pistachios in a dry skillet over medium heat for 4-5 minutes until fragrant. Let cool.
  4. Layer the jars, starting with the yogurt mixture, followed by the nut mixture and a layer of phyllo dough. Repeat until the jar is full.
  5. Drizzle with more honey or maple syrup on top.
  6. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving. Garnish with crushed nuts or a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Notes

You can make these jars a day in advance; just add the crispy phyllo layer right before serving for perfect crunch.
