Description
A deliciously fun recipe that combines the flavors of traditional baklava with Greek yogurt for a healthy twist.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups Greek Yogurt (plain, low-fat, or full-fat)
- 1 tablespoon Honey or Maple Syrup
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 pinch Cinnamon
- 1 cup Chopped Walnuts
- 1 cup Chopped Pistachios
- 1 package Crushed Phyllo Dough
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lay out sheets of phyllo dough on a clean surface, brushing each layer with melted butter or olive oil. Cut the phyllo into squares, bake for 8-10 minutes until crispy.
- Combine Greek yogurt, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of cinnamon in a bowl. Stir until smooth and creamy.
- Toast the chopped walnuts and pistachios in a dry skillet over medium heat for 4-5 minutes until fragrant. Let cool.
- Layer the jars, starting with the yogurt mixture, followed by the nut mixture and a layer of phyllo dough. Repeat until the jar is full.
- Drizzle with more honey or maple syrup on top.
- Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving. Garnish with crushed nuts or a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Notes
You can make these jars a day in advance; just add the crispy phyllo layer right before serving for perfect crunch.
