  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 4 cloves Fresh Minced Garlic
  • 1 lb Ground Beef (or turkey, chicken, soy crumbles)
  • 2 tbsp Taco Seasoning
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheese (cheddar, pepper jack, or mozzarella)
  • Toppings: Sour cream, salsa, diced tomatoes, lettuce, jalapeños

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix the softened butter, minced garlic, and a sprinkle of salt in a small bowl, and spread generously on the bread cut in half lengthwise.
  3. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until cooked. Drain excess fat, then add taco seasoning and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Toast the garlic-buttered bread in the oven for about 10 minutes or until golden.
  5. Layer the taco meat on the toasted bread and top with cheese.
  6. Melt the cheese in the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
