An easy and flavorful Cajun Sausage Pasta recipe that combines smoked sausage, colorful peppers, and creamy sauce for a comforting meal.

- 8 oz Pasta (penne or fusilli)
- 12 oz Smoked Sausage (sliced)
- 1 tablespoon Cajun Seasoning
- 1 Bell Pepper (diced)
- 1 Onion (chopped)
- 3 Cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 can (14 oz) Diced Tomatoes
- 1 Cup Heavy Cream
- 1 Cup Shredded Cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Olive Oil
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente (about 8-10 minutes). Reserve about ½ cup of water before draining.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil and sauté the sliced smoked sausage for 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Add the chopped onion and diced bell pepper, sautéing for 3-4 minutes, then stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Sprinkle in Cajun seasoning and sauté for another minute.
- Stir in diced tomatoes and let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Lower the heat, add heavy cream, and simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Mix in shredded cheese until melted. Adjust seasoning as needed.
- Toss in cooked pasta, coating it in sauce. Heat through for another minute before serving.
Notes
Add a splash of lemon juice for brightness. Serve topped with fresh parsley or chives.
