A delicious twist on the classic Sloppy Joe, featuring ground Italian sausage, caramelized onions, and rich marinara sauce, served on crispy garlic toast.

- 1 tablespoon cooking oil (olive or vegetable)
- 1 pound ground Italian sausage
- 1 onion, diced
- Kosher salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 2 to 3 cups marinara sauce
- 8 to 10 slices frozen garlic toast
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Optional: grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your Blackstone griddle (or skillet) to medium-high heat.
- Add oil onto the hot surface and let it shimmer.
- Sauté the diced onion for 3-4 minutes until translucent and caramelized.
- Brown the ground sausage with the onions for 5-7 minutes, breaking it into smaller pieces.
- Season with kosher salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, stirring to combine.
- Mix in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Prepare the garlic toast according to package instructions.
- Add shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sausage mixture and cover for one minute to melt.
- Assemble the Sloppy Joes on garlic toast and garnish as desired.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. The filling can be frozen for up to 3 months.
