- 2 Boneless, skinless Chicken Breasts
- 4 Burger Buns (whole wheat or classic)
- 4 slices Cheese (cheddar or Swiss)
- 4 slices Bacon
- 1 cup Lettuce (romaine or butter)
- 2 Ripe Tomato Slices
- 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, mix together olive oil (1/4 cup), lemon juice (2 tablespoons), minced garlic (2 cloves), salt (1 teaspoon), and pepper (1/2 teaspoon). Add the chicken breasts and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to about 400°F.
- Grill the chicken: Once the grill is ready, add your marinated chicken. Cook for 6-7 minutes on one side before flipping.
- Add cheese: Just as you’re about to take the chicken off, place a slice of cheese on top and close the lid for about 1-2 minutes to melt.
- Cook the bacon in a separate skillet until crispy.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill for texture.
- Assemble the sandwich: Start with the bottom bun, add the chicken with melted cheese, crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, and tomato.
- Finish with the top bun and enjoy!
