Description
A delicious and comforting cheesy sandwich filled with savory ground beef, onions, and garlic, all perfectly toasted to golden perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 4 slices of bread
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter or oil for toasting
Instructions
- Prep your ingredients: Start by gathering all your ingredients. Chop the onion and mince the garlic.
- Brown the ground beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add your ground beef. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the onions & garlic: Once your beef is cooked, drain any excess grease, add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until the onions are translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Season it up: Sprinkle in salt and pepper to taste and mix well.
- Melt the cheese: Lower the heat, sprinkle the shredded cheese over the beef mixture, and cover the skillet until melted, about 2 minutes.
- Toast the bread: In a separate skillet, heat butter or oil and toast the slices of bread until golden brown on both sides.
- Assemble the melt: Spoon the cheesy beef mixture onto one slice of toasted bread and top with another slice.
- Cook the whole sandwich: Grill the sandwich in the skillet until golden brown and crisp, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Slice and serve: Remove from the skillet, slice it in half, and enjoy!
Notes
For added richness, brush the tops of the sandwich with butter before grilling. Experiment with different cheeses and toppings for variations.
