Ingredients
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup melted butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, mix mashed bananas, melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Stir dry ingredients into the banana mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts if using).
Pour into loaf pan and bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
