Ingredients
1 tbsp olive oil
1 lb ground beef or lamb
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup carrots, diced
1 cup peas or green beans
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (GF if needed)
1/2 cup beef broth
1 tsp fresh thyme or 1/2 tsp dried
Salt & pepper, to taste
Topping Options:
3 cups mashed potatoes or cauliflower mash
1/4 cup grated Parmesan or cheddar (optional, for broiling)
Instructions
In a skillet, heat olive oil and cook meat until browned. Add onion, garlic, and carrots; sauté until softened.
Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire, broth, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5–7 mins until thick. Add peas last.
Transfer filling to an oven-safe dish. Spread mashed potatoes or cauliflower over the top.
Sprinkle with cheese (if using). Broil 3–5 mins until golden.
Serve hot with a side salad or crusty bread.
