Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta (e.g., penne or rotini)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil the pasta. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add pasta, and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving some pasta water.
  2. Sauté the broccoli. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add broccoli, and sauté for 3-4 minutes until tender.
  3. Add the garlic. Toss in minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Create the cream sauce. Reduce heat, pour in heavy cream, and stir. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Bring pasta and chicken into the mix. Add drained pasta and shredded chicken; mix gently to coat.
  6. Add cheese. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and gooey; season to taste.
  7. Serve hot. Plate the dish and garnish with red pepper flakes if desired.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half or non-dairy milk for heavy cream. You can also add more veggies or switch the protein to shrimp or tofu for variations.
