Ingredients
- Steak (1 lb, well-marbled)
- Shrimp (1 lb, peeled and deveined)
- Jerk Seasoning (2-3 tablespoons)
- Yellow Rice (2 cups prepared)
- Olive Oil (3 tablespoons)
- Bell Peppers (1 cup, diced)
- Onion (1 medium, diced)
- Garlic (3 cloves, minced)
- Lime Juice (from 1 lime)
- Salt & Pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Prepare the Yellow Rice: Cook according to package instructions or rinse 1 cup rice and add with 2 cups water, 1 teaspoon turmeric, salt, and olive oil; simmer for 20 minutes.
- Marinate the Steak and Shrimp: Mix shrimp and steak with olive oil, jerk seasoning, garlic, and lime juice; let marinate for 15-30 minutes.
- Cook the Steak: Sear marinated steak in a hot skillet or grill for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare; let rest before slicing.
- Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque.
- Sauté the Veggies: Toss in bell peppers and onions; sauté for 5 minutes until soft.
- Plate Up: Serve yellow rice topped with steak, shrimp, and veggies; drizzle with lime juice.
Notes
Marinating overnight enhances flavor. Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.
