A flavor-packed dish featuring jerk-marinated steak and shrimp served over vibrant yellow rice.

Ingredients

  • Steak (1 lb, well-marbled)
  • Shrimp (1 lb, peeled and deveined)
  • Jerk Seasoning (2-3 tablespoons)
  • Yellow Rice (2 cups prepared)
  • Olive Oil (3 tablespoons)
  • Bell Peppers (1 cup, diced)
  • Onion (1 medium, diced)
  • Garlic (3 cloves, minced)
  • Lime Juice (from 1 lime)
  • Salt & Pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Yellow Rice: Cook according to package instructions or rinse 1 cup rice and add with 2 cups water, 1 teaspoon turmeric, salt, and olive oil; simmer for 20 minutes.
  2. Marinate the Steak and Shrimp: Mix shrimp and steak with olive oil, jerk seasoning, garlic, and lime juice; let marinate for 15-30 minutes.
  3. Cook the Steak: Sear marinated steak in a hot skillet or grill for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare; let rest before slicing.
  4. Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque.
  5. Sauté the Veggies: Toss in bell peppers and onions; sauté for 5 minutes until soft.
  6. Plate Up: Serve yellow rice topped with steak, shrimp, and veggies; drizzle with lime juice.

Notes
