Ingredients

Scale

8 cups (2 quarts) apple cider (not juice)

45 cinnamon sticks

6 whole cloves

1 orange, sliced into rounds

1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional, to taste)

Optional: 1 star anise, fresh ginger slices, or a splash of lemon juice

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a large pot or slow cooker.

Simmer gently over low heat for 20–30 minutes, uncovered. Avoid boiling.

Taste and adjust sweetness or spice to your liking.

Strain before serving to remove solids.

Serve hot with a cinnamon stick or orange twist in each mug.
