Ingredients
- Italian Sausage
- Bell Peppers (Red, Green, Yellow)
- Onion (Yellow or Red)
- Marinara Sauce
- Cheese (Mozzarella or Provolone)
- Fresh Basil
- Sandwich Buns (Hoagie or Sub Rolls)
Instructions
- Prep your grill or skillet by heating to medium-high heat.
- Grill the sausages for about 4–5 minutes on each side.
- Slice the bell peppers and onions into strips.
- Sauté the veggies in olive oil until tender, about 5–7 minutes.
- Combine the veggies with marinara sauce and heat for another 2–3 minutes.
- Toast the sandwich buns on the grill or under the broiler.
- Assemble the sandwiches with the grilled sausage, veggie mixture, and cheese.
- Melt the cheese by returning sandwiches to the grill or in the oven.
- Finish with fresh basil and serve with extra marinara on the side.
