Description

Ingredients

  • Italian Sausage
  • Bell Peppers (Red, Green, Yellow)
  • Onion (Yellow or Red)
  • Marinara Sauce
  • Cheese (Mozzarella or Provolone)
  • Fresh Basil
  • Sandwich Buns (Hoagie or Sub Rolls)

Instructions

  1. Prep your grill or skillet by heating to medium-high heat.
  2. Grill the sausages for about 4–5 minutes on each side.
  3. Slice the bell peppers and onions into strips.
  4. Sauté the veggies in olive oil until tender, about 5–7 minutes.
  5. Combine the veggies with marinara sauce and heat for another 2–3 minutes.
  6. Toast the sandwich buns on the grill or under the broiler.
  7. Assemble the sandwiches with the grilled sausage, veggie mixture, and cheese.
  8. Melt the cheese by returning sandwiches to the grill or in the oven.
