  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  6. Scoop out balls of dough and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
  8. Cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack. Decorate with a glaze made from powdered sugar and a little water or milk, then top with sprinkles.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for longer storage. Dough can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 24 hours.
