Ingredients

- 8 oz (225 grams) whole wheat or gluten-free pasta
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Red pepper flakes, to taste (optional)
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of salted water, add pasta, and cook until al dente (8-10 minutes). Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- Steam broccoli for about 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add cooked pasta and steamed broccoli to the skillet. Toss together to combine.
- Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Serve with additional Parmesan cheese and a drizzle of olive oil if desired.
