- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
- Bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
- 1/4 cup butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Prep the chicken: Cut your boneless chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes and marinate in sauce if desired.
- Soak the skewers: Immerse bamboo skewers in water for at least 30 minutes.
- Make the sauce: Melt butter in medium saucepan and sauté garlic for about a minute.
- Add honey, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and brown sugar and stir until sugar dissolves.
- Thicken the sauce by mixing cornstarch with water and adding it to the saucepan, stirring continuously.
- Check the consistency and adjust with additional water or vinegar if needed.
- Marinate the chicken with half of the sauce for at least 15 minutes.
- Thread the chicken cubes onto soaked skewers.
- Grill the skewers over medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes, brushing with remaining sauce.
- Check for doneness: Ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Serve and enjoy with sesame seeds and green onions on top.
