A delicious twist on a veggie classic, these crispy smashed broccoli chips are the perfect crunchy snack with a savory flavor and a zesty yogurt dip.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups broccoli florets (boiled)
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for drizzling
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon herbs (dill or parsley recommended)

Instructions

  1. Boil the broccoli: Start by boiling a pot of water. Once it’s at a rolling boil, add your broccoli florets and let them cook for about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Smash it: Place your boiled broccoli florets on a sheet of parchment paper and smash them until they’re about ½ an inch thick.
  3. Combine cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Toss your smashed broccoli in the mixture until well coated.
  4. Drizzle olive oil over the tops of the coated chips on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. Whisk the yogurt, lemon juice, and herbs in a bowl to prepare the dipping sauce.
  7. Serve the broccoli chips with the yogurt dip and enjoy!

Notes

Make sure to pat the broccoli dry after boiling and not overcrowd the baking sheet for the crispiest finish.
