Description
A hearty and creamy dish featuring tender chicken, gooey mozzarella, and a luscious garlic butter sauce over bowtie pasta. It’s comfort food at its finest!
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz bowtie pasta
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions for 8-10 minutes. Drain, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.
- Sauté the chicken in 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat, seasoning with salt and pepper, for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown. Let rest before slicing.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet, sautéing for about 30 seconds. Then, drop in the butter and let it melt.
- Incorporate 1 cup of heavy cream, letting it simmer for 3-4 minutes, and then add the mozzarella cheese gradually until melted and creamy.
- Toss the drained pasta into the skillet, mixing to coat in the sauce. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Optionally, mix in chopped parsley.
- Serve in bowls, topped with additional mozzarella and parsley if desired.
Notes
Feel free to substitute bowtie pasta for penne or farfalle. For a variation, add vegetables or herbs like basil and thyme.
