- 1 (20oz) container of refrigerated or frozen cheese tortellini
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 (24oz) jar of pasta sauce
- 8 oz cream cheese, cubed
- 1–2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated or shredded parmesan
- Seasoning to taste (e.g., garlic powder, Italian herbs)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cheese tortellini and cook according to package instructions, usually 3–5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Pour in the pasta sauce and add the cubed cream cheese. Stir until melted and combined.
- Combine the cooked tortellini with the meat sauce in a large mixing bowl.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
- Bake covered with aluminum foil for 20 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes until golden and bubbling.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
This casserole freezes beautifully, making it a great meal prep option. Feel free to experiment by adding vegetables or trying different sauces.
