This comforting bacon cheeseburger casserole blends crispy bacon, cheesy goodness, and crunchy tater tots into a hearty family meal.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 6 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup milk
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 package frozen tater tots
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, seasoning with salt and pepper, for 7-10 minutes.
- Prep the bacon in a separate pan until crispy, then crumble.
- Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic in the same skillet for 5 minutes.
- Combine the browned beef, crumbled bacon, sautéed onion and garlic, milk, eggs, mustard, and half of both cheeses in a large bowl.
- Layer the mixture evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with frozen tater tots.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the tater tots.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a healthier option, consider using ground turkey or chicken. You can prepare this casserole ahead of time and bake it later.
